NEW YORK (AP) — Goldman Sachs will pay $215 million to settle a years-long class action lawsuit that claimed the bank discriminated against women when it came to pay, performance evaluations and promotions.The lawsuit, initially filed in September 2010, was set to go to trial next month. The plaintiffs in the case are women who worked for Goldman as an associate or vice president in the U.S. in the investment banking, investment management or securities divisions. The settlement covers about 2,800 female associates and vice presidents in Goldman’s investment banking, investment management and securities divisions.“My goal in this case has always been to support strong women on Wall Street. York Regional Police are searching for suspects after a man and a woman were the victims of a hate-motivated assault in Vaughan.It’s alleged that at around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, a group of men approached a man and woman outside a liquor store in the Jane Street and Major Mackenzie Drive West area.Police said one of the suspects commented on the male victim’s choice of alcohol and uttered anti-homosexual derogatory slurs at him. The female victim stepped between them and was assaulted.Two other male suspects got involved in the altercation, and the two victims were assaulted, with the male victim being knocked to the ground.Authorities said a bystander intervened, and the men drove away in a black Nissan Rogue vehicle with Ontario licence plate CLHL733.A 27-year-old woman required hospital treatment for her injuries, police said. Joe Kapp, the tough quarterback who led the Minnesota Vikings to their first Super Bowl and California to its last Rose Bowl, has died. He was 85.Cal confirmed that Kapp died on Monday. (WFLA) -- A large group of mating manatees was spotted in Blue Springs State Park in Florida last weekend.A video released by the Save the Manatee Club shows dozens of manatees gathered in the cool spring water. In a release, the organization said researchers counted over 30 manatees in the area.Female manatees in heat are pursued by several males, according to the club, and can mate with one or more in the mating herd. A female manatee remains in heat for about three weeks.
