Taurean Prince was a salary cap casualty for the Timberwolves. Minnesota waived the veteran forward Wednesday, just ahead of Prince’s 2023-24 $7.5 million salary guarantee date. The move clears the entirety of Prince’s salary off the books for next season, and he will now enter free agency if he is not claimed by one of the other 29 NBA teams. Prince was a useful bench piece for the Timberwolves each of the past two seasons. The Wolves went 31-23 in the regular-season game in which Prince played last season, and just 11-17 in the 28 he missed as a shoulder injury sidelined the 29-year-old for a chunk of the season.
